About Me
UI/UX and Gameplay Programmer
(Also multitalented artist that fills in the rolls sometimes)-
My passion for game development started in 2019. I had the opportunity to work as an intern at a slot game company during COVID, where I worked on UI, game design, and Unity. As I explored different parts of game development, my passion for the industry slowly grew — especially since I had originally been on my way toward a career in interior design.
My interior design studies were postponed because of COVID, which gave me another opportunity to reconsider my career path. I decided to take a different direction and move to Vancouver to attend VanArts for a diploma in Game Arts and Design.
-
After 12 months of studying at VanArts, I gained experience with Unreal Engine, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, and many other tools used in game art production.
After graduating, my passion for game development had solidified, but I felt that programming was the last missing piece of my skill set. That led me to LaSalle College Vancouver, where I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Game Programming.
-
At LaSalle, I expanded my programming skills and worked with languages such as C++, C#, and Python. We also went through full game development cycles as solo developers, participated in multiple game jams, and worked on several team projects.
My biggest takeaway from my time at LaSalle was working on my production project, The Fool, as a producer. What started as a small team of three eventually became a two-person partnership halfway through our year-long production. Despite the challenges, we made great progress, built valuable connections, and experienced the full production cycle of developing a game.
More importantly, I learned how to work efficiently as a team, communicate through challenges, and stay professional while still maintaining a great friendship outside of school.
-
Now, I'm looking forward to becoming a Tools Programmer, Technical Artist, or UI/UX Programmer.
I'm especially passionate about assistive technology and building tools that make development more efficient, intuitive, and enjoyable for other developers.
My dream is to work at a game studio that genuinely cares about what it creates, and to be part of a team that builds something great together.

“Morgan’s project management skills are beyond amazing, she always sets her teams up for success with her brilliant organization of timelines and tasks”
- Ibrahim
“Working with Morgan has been a very positive experience. She is creative, responsible, and organized, and she always looks for strategies to keep projects on track and make teamwork easier. One of the things I value most about her is her willingness to help. If you run into a coding problem and she knows the solution, she is always happy to share it; and if she doesn’t, she’ll help you research and find an answer. In addition to being a great teammate, she has strong leadership qualities. Working with her has been a valuable experience filled with learning, collaboration, and growth.”
